The Bleeder is a large device in the lake of the rear area of Hunrath. All we know about the this device comes from the Bleeder description document found at the Mayor's office descibing its history and operation. Bleeder is also the name of the general location of the device.
Operation and history[]
In a nutshell, the Bleeder was built to prevent the Trees from reaching fruition, as the inhabitants of Hunrath did not know what would happen to their Cell should that happen. They postulated that the Cell membrane would dissolve, "thus allowing what might be outside - in, and what might be inside - out". It has been designed to drain power generated by the maturation of the Trees and to discharge it as electricity in the water of the lake. It is unknown who designed the device, though it is a blend of both human and Villein technology, and it is likely that C.W. was in charge of its construction and operation.
Description[]
The Bleeder stands on a round concrete base steadied by diagonal supports on top of some rocks of the lake. From the base rise metal supports that hold in place the device that transforms the power of the dome membrane to electricity that is then discharged into the lake. Over this device stand a lattice steel pole with three plates on its top. The pole and plates hold in place the extruded cables of Villein technology which connect the dome membrane of Hunrath with the transformer below. From the transformer, eight cables connect to floaters which discharge the electricity in the water.
