There are five Worlds or planets in Obduction, but only four that can be observed in detail. A World is seen surrounding each of the Cells. Although Cells are embedded in Worlds, and from inside a Cell parts of the surrounding World can be seen (but not reached), from the standpoint of the World, the Cell is completely invisible and occupies no space.[1]
From various documents, and the in-game experience during the introduction, we learn how humans on Earth met by Collector Seeds get swapped to Hunrath. This could be the case between other Worlds the inhabitants of which became swapped to the corresponding Cell. In Kaptar we do see three spheres that were swapped there from the world of Kaptar, which might have resulted in Arai New Arrivers.
For the Villein we learn that their whole Cell was "scooped out of a Villein resettlement group that was preparing to set off into space to find a new homeworld."[2]
